There are still many misconceptions about adoption. The truth is, most people can adopt.
To be considered, you need to:

Be at least 21 years old

Live in the British Islands

Have a record clear of serious criminal offences
We welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds, including single applicants, same-sex couples, and people from all faiths or none.
How We Support Families in Bedfordshire
Once you begin the adoption process, we’ll assign you a dedicated social worker who will:

Be a consistent point of contact and reassurance during your journey
When you’re approved, our Placement Manager (or ‘Family Finder’) will work with you to find the right match. We’ll support you emotionally as you learn more about children’s backgrounds, and help you feel prepared for your new role as a parent.
We’ll also talk to you about the different kinds of support available – including therapeutic services – and help you access funding or allowances, if eligible.
